The Story Behind

the Curl

I realized I had spent years trying to control my curls, flatten my ambition, and keep my creativity small. But those wild strands? They carried stories. Culture. Identity. They weren’t meant to be tamed.

My curls are a living thread to my Latina and Indigenous ancestry. They loop like the patterns I’ve seen in nature. They spiral like sprouts and stories do—always circling back to where we began, but never staying the same.

My curls.
My voice.
My creative side.

In tech, I worked with structure, systems, and security—everything neat and measured. But inside, something softer was waiting. Something less linear. I didn’t know it yet, but I was holding back the parts of me that couldn’t be quantified: intuition, color, and curiosity.

Then came motherhood—and it cracked something open. In the quiet moments between feedings and late-night lullabies, I remembered who I was before the titles, before the roles. I started creative crafts again, feeling again, listening.

Rediscovering my hair became a mirror for rediscovering myself.

A choice to trust that my sensitivity, my culture, my love of colour and emotion

—all of it—belonged in the room.

That’s what led to my logo.

Returning to creativity took time.
Five years of healing.
Of unlearning.
Of saying yes to design school,

to late nights, to starting over—

not just once, but over and over again.

It wasn’t just a career shift.
It was a full-body remembering.

It’s a curl.
It’s a path.
It’s a reminder.

To return to yourself.
To the beginning.
To the line that’s always been there, waiting to be followed.

This logo is more than a mark.

It’s a map of how I got here.

The Studio

Line is everywhere.

It moves through brand identities.
It loops through illustrations.
It quietly carries meaning in the shape of a layout or the flourish of a typeface.

My work is strategic, yes—but also soulful.

And, when we work together, I’ll help you draw your own visual story.
